Private school "Pascal - Lyceum"

Is founded in 1997, the school "Pascal" has the objectives and ideals. It's objective - to bring up the independent person, individuality and to cultivate the pupils' self - reliance, self - confidence. Also one of overall objectives is the classical secondary education, skills of operation with the information and effective communicative skills.

Now we have 120 schoolchildren.

The pupils are at school from 9.30 till 18.00. In the morning and evening after activities the school bus takes the pupils home.

At school there is a sports hall, library and computer hall.

Also we have a remarkable buffet with traditional and vegetarian quisine.

Educational course

The number of pupils in class is 7-14. Children from 6 to 15-16 are educated at our school. From primary school the pupils pass common course of subjects, which includes foreign languages (3 hours a week), drawing, music, science etc, plus extra-activities in the second half of day: ceramics, computer studies, chess, swimming, karate, singing and dance.

The main course of natural, exact and humanitarian sciences begins from 10 years (English - 5 hours per week), and, besides this, human rights studies, psychology in the first half of day and the set of activities mentioned before in the second half of day, with addition of fencing, mountain skis and snowboard in beautiful Ohta-park.

Music and drama play the inportant role in life of our school. We have choruses of primary and secondary school, and also chorus of the teachers. The school has our own hymn. Periodically performances take place and visits to famous theatres of St. Petersburg.

Sports

Especially popular sorts of sports are football, basketball, chess, table tennis and karate, on which we carried out inschool competitions, and competition to other schools. Also we go to the camp with a possibility to be engaged there in sports.
